Equipment List

Training on tool operation is a large part of Science Support; our staff frequently trains users on proper operation of augers, generators, saws, drills, and many other tools. A brief training session is required before using most power tools.  We also stress that if a user is not comfortable using a tool, we are always happy to do it for them. The bulk of our tools are considered common use, meaning you are welcome to use them provided you return them in good condition when you are done. Generally, tools stay on the camp pad, but occasionally arrangements can be made if you need to take a tool to the field short term. If you need a dedicated tool in the field, such as a cordless drill a portion of the summer, you should plan to bring your own for your project. A few of our complicated or higher dollar tools are staff use only unless you have specific prior experience with them, however we are happy to perform the necessary work for you. These "staff only tools" include Hotsy pressure washers, welders, metal lathe, diagnostic equipment, and a few other assorted items.

In progress below, we have an online list forming, which will eventually list the bulk of our tools.  This will enable researchers to check and see that, yes, we do indeed have a ½" drill available.  This list is to be continued - we have lots of tools around camp.  Please check with us if you anticipate needing something not on this list and we can confirm.
